We mourn the loss of Dieter Kusch

It was with great regret that we learned that Mr Dieter Kusch, former owner of Kusch+Co GmbH, passed away on Sunday, 6 April 2025. Born in 1938, Mr Kusch joined the company founded by his father, Ernst Kusch, in 1963 and took over the management after the unexpected death of his father in 1969.

His passion for design and high-quality design and the tireless energy were the driving forces behind the development of numerous innovative seating and table furniture, with which he set standards in the furniture industry.

Outstanding design not only led to successful product lines such as the 1250 eTea seating system and the 5050 and 5070 Vega soft seating series, but also created the basis for long-term collaborations with renowned designers - a unique feature in the industry at the time. The world-famous Professor Luigi Colani was one of the first permanently employed designers in Germany at the end of the 1960s and became a close friend of the Kusch family. Mr Kusch's commitment to technological innovation was particularly evident in the introduction of one of the first water-based lacquer systems in the furniture industry in 1989.

In Mr Dieter Kusch, we have lost a highly esteemed personality.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and all those affected by this great loss.

With sincere sympathy,
