Design by Studio F. A. Porsche

The sports car from the German automobile manufacturer Porsche are widely recognized as design icons. Whether the products are designed by themselves or in co-operation with other companies, they all bear the intentionally purist, yet very expressive signature of the company-own Studio F.A. Porsche. Take the bench system 8000 for instance, developed in tandem with Kusch+Co. Seat and backrest elements are seamlessly interconnected, their silhouette reminiscent of soft wings – as if the aerofoils were the main source of inspiration. Lightness, safety and stability all united in this elegant design. The individual seats are separated and defined through vertical, intermediate side rails, and as such, each seat is clearly and territorially defined – even within endless row configurations. This bench series comes with many optional extras to individualise the finish and functionality: armrests are retrofittable, seat and backrest are exchangeable, and a raised seat height for persons with reduced mobility. The available materials steel, aluminium, plastic in combination with different fabrics, leather or the entirely polyurethane foamed seat and backrest account for the success of this bench series in upmarket environments in the market segment Transport.
