Njord

Njord

Straight lines with gentle curves, a slender solid wood frame and a streamlined seat made entirely of felt, combined with earthy colours, are an expression of organic design. Njord is its quintessence. It is inspired by and refers to nature.
CLOSE TO NATURE
Scandinavian design
Njord is simply Scandinavian to the core. This is reflected by the fact that its designers are graduates of the Danish Design School in Copenhagen. The name itself also hints at the Scandinavian origins of this unique line, as Njord is the Nordic god of calm seas, wind and sailing.

Scaffidi & Johansen

Antonio Scaffidi, born in 1976, and Mads K. Johansen, born in 1978, both graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, Design and Conservation in Copenhangen.

Whereas Antonio Scaffidi benefits from the symbiosis between his fiery Italian temperament and Nordic culture, Mads K. Johansen was driven by his artistic passion as a cabinetmaker.

In their opinion, Good design is the interplay of creative ideas, meticulous planning, careful selection and incorporation of natural materials. They are eager to explore new avenues, and try out new, unusual combinations – as proven by their designs for Kusch+Co. Mads K. Johansen’s life journey ended in autumn 2014.

Awards

Four internationally recognised design awards are convincing proof that the Njord armchair stands out above the rest.
