Prof. Dieter Rams
Dieter Rams, born in 1931 in Wiesbaden, studied architecture and interior architecture at Wiesbaden Arts and Crafts School from 1947 to 1953. Internationally renowned as a designer and interior architect, he is considered one of the greatest representatives of functionalism. 1955 he started his work for Braun AG where he soon became the head of the product design department. In 1981 he became professor of industrial design at Hamburg University of the Fine Arts. 
Rams has received numerous design awards. A collection of his works can be seen at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
